Karin Nilsson’s farmhouse in Gotland, Sweden, perfectly embodies the entire philosophy of Slow Living. Every corner, whether in the garden or inside the house, follows the rhythm of pleasure: slowness.

Makeshift sofas made from pallets, old armchairs under blooming almond trees, worn wooden tables, wicker baskets with knitted items, bouquets of flowers in every corner, comfortable sofas with crumpled linen covers… The shabby style in all its glory dominates the home of decorator Karin Nilsson. It is full of obvious wear and tear and signs of time. The imperfections are not hidden, on the contrary, they are underlined to highlight the authenticity of the wooden farmhouse that does not pose. Every corner is made with one goal in mind, enjoyment. Natural materials take the lead in the decoration, with wood dominating. All the furniture is old or looks like old. The only exception is the white shiny modern kitchen, which is accompanied by tableware and kitchenware that have a matte texture and vintage style.
